FitDIY is a personal fitness tracker for food, weight, strength training, cardio, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It is built around a simple principle: your data stays on your device.
None. FitDIY has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We (the developer) never receive, store, or have access to anything you log in the app.
Everything you record — food entries, weigh-ins, measurements, workouts, BJJ sessions, reflections, progress photos, and training videos — is stored locally in the app's private container on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any cloud service by the app. Your device backups (e.g. iCloud device backup) are governed by your own device settings and Apple's policies.
With your permission, FitDIY:
Health data is used only on your device, only for these features. It is never transmitted off the device, never shared with or sold to third parties, and never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining. You can revoke access at any time in Settings > Health.
The only network requests FitDIY makes are barcode lookups: when you scan a packaged food, the app sends the barcode digits — and nothing else — to Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central to fetch nutrition facts. No personal information or identifiers accompany these requests. Results are cached on your device so repeat scans work offline.
Camera access is used to scan barcodes and to record training clips and progress photos you choose to capture. All media stays in the app's private, on-device gallery under a storage-retention policy you control. Nothing is uploaded.
Your data is yours to delete at any time: remove individual entries in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stores. Samples the app wrote to Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app (Browse > your data type > Data Sources & Access).
FitDIY is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone (it collects no information at all).
If the app's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
